buckle up kids

HOLA MY DUUUDES!!! como han sido esta semana tan hermosa! (how have you been this beautiful week?)

so i´m stoked to share with you some awesome updates from this week (:
primero...
AGUSTINA!  ella es una chica que estamos enseñando y la verdad, ella es la mejor de la vida. punto. (She is a girl that we are teaching and truthfully, she is the life's best) I LOVE AGUSTINA! she´s this super cute 17 yr old and she´s making a bunch of changes in her life to help out others and support her family more and just be a better human in general.  And.. she has the goal to be baptized in noviembre.  she´s working super hard to meet her goal and she´s learning a ton!! She went to church yesterday with some less active members and is receiving a bunch of support from the members that go every sunday (: and the best part is, we weren´t even there.  she´s doing it all!! it´s amazing.

also, when we went to 3 arroyos (name of a town) this weekend, we got to go to their branch family home evening during the night.  it was so awesome!!! I LOVED IT! they are all so super close to one another and are so supportive and so amazing.  i loved being able to see how they care about each other so much and how they always lend a hand to help the others out.  and they also tease and bully each other a ton.  but with love so it´s okay haha.

also, someone told me i look like i´m 27 this week.  i think the baggy eyes are doing it for me.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! want some candy? trick or treat! (@gma grace, she already knows.)

I LOVE YOU MY DUDES!

Hola YOMIEESSS!!!! como estan!!

This week i learned a huge lesson on having my own motivators and my own satisfaction with my propio trabajo(my own work).  Sometimes (a lot of times) people don´t see what goes on behind what we do, but that doesn´t make it less worth it.  I love doing what I do and I love being able to see my own results.  I love not needing validation from others to feel good about what we have going on.  buuuut it´s still cool to get good compliments from others hahahah (;

This weekend we went to MAR DEL PLATA y(and) TANDIL.

bueno, before explaining what went down in mar del plata, ya gotta understand this lil tidbit from freaking tina.  when someone gets fired or someone doesn´t feel like doing their job for a day or someone wants to get paid more, it is socially acceptable (and happens often) to do a "paro."  That means that you stop.  you don´t go to work. you get your buddies and hang out or go do a protest or something.  PAROS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND THEY DON´T MAKE SENSE.

so,
when we got to mar del plata,
on our welcome mat (in the terminal)
we were welcomed by...
you named it,
A PARO.
but this time by ex-band geeks. (i love all you band geeks out there <3)
lol, the workers didn´t feel like doing anything soooo they all got some giant metal cans/buckets/some word i don´t remember in ingles and spent the morning paro´ed out in front of the terminal chanting and playing their giant tin can drums instead of paving the terminal like they said they would.  I thought it was hilarious and my comp thought it was super tonto and wanted to throw rocks or something (bahahah linde is the best human ever).
and then we went on our way and had fun in MDP.
we also went to TANDIL to do a capacitacion (training) and TANDIL HAS MOUNTIANS!!!! (but i´m imagining they´re kinda like the east coast mountains and not actually that big, but i haven´t seen anything taller than a 10 story building for too long sooo) TANDIL HAS MOUNTAINS!!!! when we go back in 2 weeks you already know i´m going to find a way to get on top of all of them.

I LOVE YOU MY DUDES!!!!

fire

Hola my duuuuudes!!!!!

okay... como (like) the title suggests... this weekend was a trial by fire.  hna linde and i have been referring to it as the fire swamp lol.

we were going along super tranqui (calmly) when suddenly!!! we fell into the lightning sand. (we forgot our c@$h money in the apt and had to volver (return) right quick to snag that to be able to function at all this weekend yikes.) so we turned around and snagged that to be able to take the kit (equipment/supplies for the open houses) out of the bus station.  and started to dodge the fire burps (or whatever they´re called)  aaand the dude who works there didn´t show up cuz he didn´t feel like it.  so a lady told us to go look for our kit in the SUPER FAR FAR AWAY off site lugar (place). so we went. and it wasn´t there.  the dude told us to go back to the terminal to snag the kit cuz the guy was gonna show up sometime this tarde (afternoon).  so we waited for an hour more and he walks in tranquiiiiloooo (casually).  and our kit wasn´t there.  he told us to come back tomorrow (saturday.)  so we did!!! and the dude in the terminal told us the kit came!!! ....to the super far far away off site lugar (place) that was way out in the middle of nowhere.  BUT WE GOT THE KIT!!!! we survived the cap abi (open chapel) and the attempt of a coupe de (by) the members lol but during the middle of the night we got SAVAGED by an ROUS attack aaaand the alarm didnt go off.  so we missed our two buses to go to azul (azul is the name of a city) to get to necochea (name of another city) to find a way to get to loberia (name of another city) (the place where we were to have a capacitacion (training).)  sooo we left at 8:30 in the morning to start our journey over there.  and in the terminal along the way another ROUS popped outa nowhere and the pte of loberia (bus to city of loberia) canceled on us.  sooo we hung out in a bus station until our bus left necochea at 9:15 at night. wow.

BUT WE MADE IT OUT OF THE FIRE SWAMP!!!!!
and we thought everything was in the clear until we woke up this morning and the 6 fingered man showed up.

we left the phone in a taxi last night and no we have no way to communicate with anyone.

guys,
pray for us. lol we need it.

bahaha nah, we´re good but it was cool to be able to learn how to laugh everything off instead of stress out (:  i love being able to look back at all those cliffs of insanity and giggle about how we somehow manage to survive everything lol

I LOVE YOU MY DUDES!!!

earth

HOLA MY DUUUUDES!!!!

Guys.  This week.  Flew by.  (Have i said that before? Lol). And this week we were in our area the whole time!! It was a packed week. But it was awesome.  I learned a TON from the conferencia general que tuvimos los ultimos dos dias (general conference that we had the last two days).  I LOVED IT.  I almost slept a little but when i focused myself a little more, it worked out!!!!  It was awesome. The conference brought me down to earth.  I feel more grounded and i loved the talks.

The womens session was pointed at something i’m not stoked about (for the forseeable future haha) but i’m okay with it.  Going into the conference i had been praying to learn what the Lord wants from me aaaaand after a spiritual slap in the face i think i found the answer i had been praying for hahaha, sometimes i regret asking things i sort of kind of already know because there’s always a big drop of cane to wake me up haha, buuut it was cool.

Something that struck me was the talk about forgiveness and reconciliation.  It was awesome to see and feel the importance of being a peacekeeper and a peace seeker.  I loved the admonishment of going to ask forgiveness instead of waiting to be asked.  Being meek enough to step out of your comfort zone to ask forgiveness is super rough, especially when you’re unsure if the forgiveness will be given, but i’m excited to try it out.  I’m sure with my GIGANTIC MOUTH AND NO FILTER BRAIN i’ve offended someone along the way so this’ll help me out a bit (;

I encourage you guys to go and read what we just learned!  And if you didn’t watch conference, i invite you to go give it a try.  Even if you’re not a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints.  It’s got some life lessons that are sure to help every one of us be a better person.

I LOVE YOU MY DUDES!!!!

(Sorry for the lack of pictures.... there’s no way to use a pendrive with an ipad.)
Also don’t stress about me being in the house of hymas, we’re just helping her prep for her cena (dinner) with all the missionaries that are going home, nothing bad haha

HOLA YOMIES COMO ESTAN!!!

okay so this week was mega mega rad (: like usualllll.  but there were definitely some ups and downs with what was going down the whole week.  soooo one of the downs was when we got to the terminal to watch our bus drive away ;( buuut! with about 6000 phone calls and awesome elders to help us out, we found a way to get to our destination in time (: it was long, but we made it!!!  and while we were on the way, we stopped in trenque!!! and the hnas there told me that my old pal FRANCO got baptized!!! and he loves it and he´s stoked.  that was probably the best news anyone can get at 4am haha

in castex (a tiny town in La Pampa, ie: our destination) we had to stay in a hotel sooo that was actually super rad. they had really nice beds hahah linde and i took like a 3 hr nap it was amazing. haha i love naps too much.  the capilla abierta in castex was AWESOME!  it was a tiny tiny tiny house-church, but the members worked really hard and some amazing people came by and helped us out.  it was super cool! I loved it.

https://goo.gl/maps/DqvkTCsYT4p (link to a map to show where they traveled)

the next day, we were in Olavarria (we had to cross the entire mission to get there, yikes) to do a capacitacion and it was actually amazing too haha everything this week fell into place and it was super super cool to have so many people suppporting us and helping us out along the way.  I love how (me, being the crazy person that i am) we have always had someone supporting us and helping us out.  I can´t do this crazy calling alone, and my comp can´t either.  there are always amazing people in our path to help us find our way and to help smooth out all the colectivo insanity.

I LOVE YOU MY DUDES!!  I hope you can be the help for someone else this week!
